The TUC is Deluded!

The TUC is Deluded!

Just come across this in the Daily Mail. A public sector pay freeze is something that is absolutely required. This is a group of organisations that have been protected during Covid. They’ve not been at risk of job losses when tens if not hundreds of thousands of private sector workers have been laid off! This to me is the absolute definition of deluded! What do you think? Leave me a comment below 🙂 PG https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8974751/TUC-chief-refuses-rule-wave-union-backed-STRIKES-Rishi-Sunak-freezes-public-sector-pay.html

The Great Facebook Unfriending

The Great Facebook Unfriending

The world of social media is a fickle world. You can follow, unfollow, befriend, unfriend, block and unblock as often as you like. You don’t have to look people in the eye as you do any of these. You can follow the lives of celebrities as easy as the lives of people you’ve known for years. The problem is the ease of all the above. So you haven’t spoken for a while, you’ve fallen out with them, they’ve done something…

What Makes You Happy

What Makes You Happy

I’ve read loads of self help articles from supposed experts on how to make you happier. Ideas range from writing how you feel in a diary to stewing baby radishes over an open fire before plating them up for mystical gods. My question is, do they work? So these experts view their whole lives through some sort of glasses where all is well and deer roam wild in paddocks of daffodils. Do most of us actually love our lives where…

Craving Attention

Craving Attention

I’m forever seeing people on Facebook posting long status’ about how they’re always there for you. It doesn’t matter if they’ve not spoken for years or if they’re busy, they’ll always be there for you. My question is why do people post that when they clearly don’t mean it? Is it that they think it makes them look caring and considerate to others publicly? Have you ever tried speaking to someone that’s said this and later down the line has…

What It Means To Love Someone Who Will Never Love You Back | Kendra Syrdal

What It Means To Love Someone Who Will Never Love You Back | Kendra Syrdal

Hollow. The first word that comes to mind when you love someone who will never love you back. Empty. Void. Blank. Pointless. Hollow. Because that’s exactly what it is. It’s like eating junk food when you’re not even hungry because you’re sure, so surethat it will satiate you. That it will make you happy. That it will give you some sort of sense of satisfaction, of contentment. But that feeling never comes and you’re left just sitting in front of…

London Calling…British Airways City Break

London Calling…British Airways City Break

Some may think I’m soft for doing this but each to their own I guess. I love the film Pretty Woman, always have. Now clearly I’m not as rich as Richard Gere’s character but I do like to treat Mrs PG from time to time. Especially on her birthday. It should probably be said that Mrs PG hates surprises so I was compelled to tell her where we were going a few days before but the end result was the…

Barcelona City Break

Barcelona City Break

Having read so many articles online about peoples trips to Barcelona I thought I’d add mine to the mix. It might not impress some people, but what it will be is an honest account of the trip we took. Day 1 We arrived at Leeds Bradford Airport on a cold and typically British late autumn morning (cold and overcast). The welcome we received from the Jet2 ground staff was nothing but warm and welcoming. As I have come to expect…

My Dating Fail

My Dating Fail

Quite a few years back a long term relationship failed and my ex left me. Whilst that may be the topic of another post, obviously I found myself alone. Now I know that 25 is by no means old but I’d only ever had two relationships, both of which were long term, so dating wasn’t exactly something I was practiced in. I met a girl at work on an impromptu night out. We spoke briefly but didn’t exchange numbers or…

A Question Of Loneliness

A Question Of Loneliness

After dropping off little PG at school this morning I set off to work. The high school kids all waiting for their bus. I saw a lad of maybe 14/15 was stood on his own at a bus stop whilst the other six or seven of them were stood together laughing and joking. It made me think back to when I was at high school. I hated it. Bullied from pretty much day one, friends with others whilst it suited…

How To Be A Manly Man

How To Be A Manly Man

I’ve gone through my life being proud of who I am. I’m relatively self confident in certain environments but in others I’m nervous as hell. I find it easy to talk to people with similar interests but struggle with those who are hard work. Society seems to push us into fitting to a label. It makes us emulate others in order to fit in. I just don’t get this. How long can you keep this up for? Do you meet…
