I’m forever seeing people on Facebook posting long status’ about how they’re always there for you. It doesn’t matter if they’ve not spoken for years or if they’re busy, they’ll always be there for you.
My question is why do people post that when they clearly don’t mean it? Is it that they think it makes them look caring and considerate to others publicly? Have you ever tried speaking to someone that’s said this and later down the line has ghosted you?
Then there are those who post a picture or a status that clearly craves someone asking “Are you ok?” or “Do you need to talk?”.
Neither of these make any sense to me. I get that it could be a cry for help and totally genuine but I feel that in most cases it’s just people wanting attention for a bit.
Now I’ll occasionally put a picture on Facebook or Instagram that could be confused for this. However, in my case I’m just using it as a way to express my feelings. I don’t want attention, I don’t want asking if I’m ok, I just want to express how I’m feeling as it makes me feel better.
What I do crave is somebody that I can really trust. Someone that I can talk too without judgement. I’ve had these people in my life from time to time but I always end up loosing them for one reason or another.
Hence this blog. A place where I can write how I feel about many things without judgement as nobody knows who I am. Anonymity protects my mindset.
I’d love to know what your feelings are on this subject. Leave me a comment or drop me a message on my Facebook page HERE.
